We were vendors at the DFW Fiber Festival here in Addison. We did this last year too. We were amazed at how well we did! Seriously, we sold out of several of the items and only had one small box to pack up to go home with! Needless to say, WE will be back next year & are already planning a few other venues.

These next few our the ones we took on our trip back from Katy. We took the backroads and it was gorgeous to see all of the wild flowers. So like all responsible, cautious parents, we found a great patch on the side of the highway & stopped to get 4- 3y/o out to take pictures! HA!

I didn't mean for this long of a lag in blogging. So much has happened, that I don't know where to begin. the girls have started school, ballet/tap dance classes, LOTS of sickies, and more potty training. Oh, and lots of what is called "the tumultous THREE's!" HA! The girls are getting so big and everyday they tell me what big girls they are and how much they want to "help". I'm not so sure the house (and especially the dishes) will survive all of this "help".

And of course, OUR TEAM WON THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!! WHO DAT?!?!?!?!?! (yeah, I'm WAAAAYYYYY behind!)

DANCE CLASS! The girls are LOVING this and they are soooo cute! They now dance all around the house & even try to do little shows at times.

One of the reasons for being so behind in blogging is our house has been hit with lots of colds/viruses (computer included). We went 7 weeks straight of someone if not all on antibiotics, tylenol/motrin & breathing treatments. The grand finally finished with 6 ER visits, 2 admittance (one for 6 days & one for 4). It was almost like being in the NICU again with the iv's, breathing treatments & being on 02. the girls are fine now and I wouldn't have made it without the help of my Mom (who took off work & drove up here to sit in one of the hospital rooms), my Quadmama's & family & Ms. ALexis who sat with me at the hospital OR watched one of the girls while running back & forth to the ER.

The Girls have been so enjoying the holiday season. It has been so much fun experiencing it with them. They LOVE all shows that are Christmas themed. And I know they are paying attention. The other day they found a Santa toy, where Santa is stuck in the chimney. River was so distraught over this & kept saying the Reindeer in my room could pull him out & help him. Sure enough, there was a Reindeer ornament in my room. She was a bit disappointed when her theory didn't work, but was confident that "Daddy fix it! Daddy will help!" (yeah, I rank real high around here). They have also LOVED having the Christmas tree up. But for now, here is alittle of the day to day around here.
This picture should explain why some emails may never be answered or received. DO YOU SEE ALL OF THE FINGERS???? This is also why there are so many video montages. The girls LOVE to watch & dance to them.

Good thing Mommy knows alittle bit about plumbing & has a plunger near by. Only an inch or so of water on the ground... No worries. A few towels, and a good mop. All is new.

The girls are still missing Halloween & decided to carve an apple after lining up the left over jack-o-lanter stickers. The butter-knife didn't give the look they were in search of & quickly abandoned that project.

Christmas Cards

I'm so excited to share our Christmas card with ya'll! I'm picking them up tomorrow and will hopefully have them out by this weekend. We had the very talented Betsy of Betsy Marie Photography take the pictures this year. It was such a pleasant experience and the pictures came out wonderfully! I still have to pick out the pictures & order them. It sooo hard to choose!

You can see two of the "dancing" pics above. Those pics are some of my favorite. You truly can see each of their personalities captured perfectly. And they look so grown up! sniff, sniff.

Snow DAY!!!!

We got a early treat this year when it snowed on Wednesday ( I'm alittle behind as usual). The girls LOVED IT! Though we are still mourning the loss of the snowman. Even the snowman cookies, marshmellow snowmans, snowman movie, ect., have not completely dulled the pain for all over his loss ( he melted by the end of the day ). It is a bit sad at times when they go to the back window looking for "NOOO-MAAANN!!!!!!!!" .
(it is a very fun & easy activity.... pretzel sticks, marshmellows & whatever fun candies to make a "snowman". we even put them on a plate & sprinkled powdered-sugar for a full "snow" effect)
Hmm....do I make a snowman like Mommy showed us, or do I just eat it the goodies????

However, I'm very grateful that some of our neighbors now have their Christmas Decorations & lights out and one of them has a huge Snowman which the girls LOVE to go visit & tell hello too. We had started walking with the girls everynight and with all the lights now, it has gotten to be alot of fun & very entertaining for them. I will just say you don't want to know what it takes to get out the door with all them especially with it really cold right now...sheesh!

THE PARTY!

The party went so much better than I could have ever hoped. The girls, their friends and even the parents all seemed to have a wonderful time. Again, I couldn't have done it without the help & support of my mom, Beau, Emily and my quadmamas. Watching the expressions of delight on each of their faces during the party already has me thinking of their next one. So now you know when & where the party was (previous posts), here are the photos from it finally!

While we were setting up Ms. Courtney came to visit us before she went to cheer. The girls adore her!

The Steece's Pieces. Suz is one of the quadmama's and one of the sweetest people I know. They came all the way from Ft. Worth to join in the fun!
THe Sattler boys. Heartbreakers in the making! Kelly & I met at PAMOM on our first night there & have been friends ever since. She is one person who can always make me smile. And her boys are ALL boys! It is so fun to see!

One lesson learned during the continued celebrations at the house..... turn off the fan before you let go of the balloons. Oops! Hey, its not really a party till something is broken right? (well, in our case it was several, but who's counting?)

Birthday DAY

The Girls' birhtday started out with a dash across the hall to go see NONI! She arrived the night before to spend the weekend and celebrate with us.

Of course, Noni loved being surrounded by her "quaddies" and the girls LOVED getting into the guest room & jumping on the bed while she was still in it. So after a quick cup of coffee and some pancakes for everyone, we took off to Little Gym!

TA DA! I'm THREE years old! Can you believe it? I can't!

Even Noni got into the action. Noni has not missed one birthday with the girls yet. She even arrived at the hospital only a few hours after they were born. Having MY Mom be a huge part of the life of my girls means so much to me. Beau & I truly would not have survived those first few months without her! Or my Dad for his support in letting her be with us all those weeks! THANK YOU NONI & POP POP!!!!
It made the day extra special for all of us having her here!

I'm going to party ALL DAY LONG!!!!! WOOHOOO!!!

Lunch was fun and the girls enjoyed having Noni AND Daddy join in the queso & guac. Did you notice the shirts? I was so excited to find them. AND FOUR of them! It is not as easy as it would seem.....

The girls were so cute ALL day saying "it's my birthday! where's my party? Will we get cake?" It didn't help when they went with us to Party City to get more supplies. I had a mild panic that there would not be enough decorations. (Did I mention that I was at Walmart and Target until they closed the night before still trying to put the party together? HA! and still felt the need for more? I guess that's what happens when you literally wait to the last minute!) Anyhoo......
It took forever to get them down for nap, but once they finally went to sleep Noni and I went to work to get things ready. Party favors, snacks, picking up the cake & cupcakes. Beau was sent to the store and to clean the van! By the time that was all done, we were ready for a nap.....however it was the beginning of "party time"!!!!!!

The girls woke up to hair & make-up (it was their party afterall!) and then THE DRESSES! I had bought the dresses for Halloween with full intention of using them for their birthday party. Well, the girls have been wanting to wear them everyday since Halloween and were so excited to get to wear them again. It was all I was hearing about from 2 of them...."where's my dress? I want my dress! I neeed my dress!!!!!" (Can you guess who that was????)

Well, that would be the "special" party favor! I'm so glad you asked...... It is a "Fairy Marshmellow Wand"! (these were a HUGE HIT! Found the idea off another blog that referenced the book Fairies Cookbook by Barbara Beery. Of course, I got the book after the party and Mom & I just sort of "winged it". It was amazing how close we really were to the recipe! You will be seeing more things from this book in the future. LOVE IT! and she has one for Tea Parties......hmmmmm, next year????)

Much thanks to Jenna Walker & Charity Donovan for their help with the Birthday Rhyme & party favor suggestions! At the party we had over 15 kiddos- quads, triplets, twins, and four singletons... and then our girls. It was craziness at its best!
I cannot say enough good things about the staff (Thank you so much Mr. Travis & Mr. Zach) for their help in planning & running the show! They even hung the decorations, blew up a ton of balloons, set-up all the stuff & cleaned it up once done! We LOVE LITTLE GYM!

On another important matter is today is National Preemie Awareness day. We were beyond blessed in that our girls were born healthy but they were born at 30weeks---TEN weeks early! Going home alone after having your baby (or babies) is hard. But the fight those littles have in front of them is much harder. It is because of organiztions like March of Dimes and BLoggers Unite. Everyone has been sick around here. Including the "Daddy"! He was out of town most of this week, but came home sick as a dog. The girls have still been sick (and praying today is the last of it!!!!!!) Here is a pic of how most of the last few days have really been. Monday with Four Little Sickies...

Our Monday morning really began at about 12:30am. Yep! Rayne woke up and sounded terrible. As should would say "Rayne-Rayne sick" followed with the biggest pout. (All the girls were running fever on Sunday, so it wasn't a totally shock). So out came the nebulizer. Of course by 8am, ALL of the girls were getting a breathing treatment. I mean seriously, you can't just do a few! It truly looks like a bong-party with the passing of the mask & the mist coming out of it.
So what does one do to entertain FOUR sick, almost 3 year olds, you might ask? EVERYTHING ONE CAN TO GET THRU THE DAY!!!!!!

In Three Weeks....

In three weeks, our girls will turn THREE!!!! Oh.My.GOD!!!! I can't believe it, can you? It has been such a wild ride with these four and everyday something new comes out of their mouth or some new "dance" move has to be shown. Of course, everyday their is alittle more independence wanted/demanded, alittle more sisterly "interactions" (aka knock-out-drag-out-battles/screaming matches), but LOTS more hugs & kisses and "I love You's". We truly no longer have babies or toddlers, but little girls with big ideas and places to go. I can only hope I can keep up.
River has become such a little lady. She loves to help and is always eager to lend a hand. She recently had a day out with just mommy and we met daddy for lunch. She was so happy. It is one thing that is hard to do with multiples, one on one time. So they really love it when they get a chance. Now for a River funny: She ALWAYS has to be first! And if she isn't you will hear about it until she gets her turn. Actually the whole area will hear about it. So, earlier this week the girls went in for their flu shots. JuJu got it first since she was in my arms. River, of course, was " No! me first!" Well, once she saw JuJu get the shot and needless to say there were a few tears. River backed-off. When asked who would be next, River said "Skye" as she pushed her forward. (way to throw your sister under the bus, I told her). She did the same thing to Rayne . So when it was her time, she bit her little lip, cried a little with the shot & by the time the band-aide was put on, she looked at me with the sweetest face (with a big tear) and said "it don't hurt no more! it not so bad!" And with that, a happy face returned. I told her since she was such a big girl, we could have a treat--chicken nugget-frenchfry.
Rayne is still the princess of the group and becoming the little "mama". She is always carrying around a doll or a bear and loving on them. It is the sweetest thing. She feeds them, puts diapers on them, ect. She has even tried to do that with JuJu. I don't think I need to tell you how that went over. HA! I asked the girls "who will give me a pose?" and Rayne turned and gave me this face. She is my sweetie.
JuJu. We now hear alot of "no, JuJu!" "JuJu! STop ____!" Of course, it is always followed by her sweet, maniacal laugh. Yes, maniacal! I know, hard to believe. But she truly has fun annoying her sisters. Though, most of the time she is just trying to be right there with them or doing exactly what they are doing. She just wants to be in the exact same spot & have the exact same item they have. Yeah, it usually doesn't go over well. It does make for some entertaining moments.
Skye can be the most serious of my girls and at the same time my little "fairy" child. She LOVES outside! She has to go out everyday to smell the flowers Beau planted & will hug the oak trees out front, running to each one until I chase her down & drag her back in. She can also sit & look at books for hours! Her & Beau will sit and read the OED ( OXFORD English Dictionary) for a few minutes in the eventing. She will ask specifically for "O.E.D" Books are one of her favorite things next to coloring. She now draws faces and is working on making faces with stick figures. My artiste!

Potty training is going well. A few days ago, I almost put everyone back in diapers, including the dog. Trust me when I say you don't want the details of that day! But things are back on tract. We started with River & Rayne and they are now pretty much daytime trained. We will start soon with the other two. God, help me, because I literally spend most of my day in the bathroom. With what we have saved on diapers, will now go to Stanley Steemer & the water bill. seriously.

No lie, this is my NINTH attempt at this post! Blogger is not my friend this week. The girls did have some help in the 5th or 6th attempt. So hopefully this time it will make it thru. Though, alot of stuff that was in, is now gone. So anyhoo...... Here is what some of what's left.

Getting all four in pictures these days is difficult at best. The last few weeks we have been having so much rain, so we decided to have a picnic inside. The girls LOVE to do picnics. One day we will actually do them outside.

Skye LOVES to "read". These are two of her favorite books to have with her, The MERCK Manual & the Oxford Dictionary. Seriously. They have to be in her bed with her. She loves to look for a familiar letter and they yells them out singing the song from the Letter Factory by Leap frog. ( I HIGHLY recommend this video! the girls now know ALL of their letters & the sound each letter makes. Caution: the song WILL get stuck in your head!)

Ms. Emily found this Ariel Vanity table at her apartment complex with all of the accessories. The girls LOVE it. It is so funny to watch them primp. ( I found a few more table vanity mirrors with accessories. look for those pics & all to come soon. precious!!!!)

Rayne is my fashionista. She actually picked out the whole outfit, dressed herself (zipper & all). We laugh at how she always has to be accessorized. It is scary that at almost 3 she has more fashion sense than most people I saw at Walmart the other day!

Skye has decided that she will NOT take a bath without her glasses. She hates to be splashed & will scream "my EYES, my EYES!!!!!" if water comes near them. So, now she won't get in the tub until her glasses are on. Yes, it is very funny! No DIVA's here... ha!

Labor Day weekend is usually a crazy time for us because there are SOOOOOO many birthday days. Well, this year my Dad turned 60 & my brother turned 30! Not to mention my nieces' birthday & our anniversery (5 years!!!!). Needless to say there was alot to celebrate.
My Mom worked really hard to have all of get together to surprise my dad for the weekend. It was an amazing feat, but ended up out doing herself! She even surprised us all with getting Baby Izzy & Natasha to come down as well. ( My niece who was just bornt) We were so excited to finally meet her. The girls were in LOVE with Izzy & so fascinated with everything about her. It was a wonderful weekend. And for my parents, I know it meant alot. They had all 7 grandkids underone roof ( and us too). It was pure Heaven ( ok, chaos!) but so much fun!

Why doing laundry is dangerous........

This morning I thought the girls were enjoying their little video they requested so I went to switch the laundry over and start another round. Well............I knew that was wrong when I heard a certian sound--a piano being played! NOT GOOD!

I rounded the corner to see this......
This was an obvious break-in, by force it appears!
Upon further looking, the breech was much worse. Skye was on some internet site & about 4 windows open, Rayne was checking out the shredder ( that was unplugged thankfully), and if you look you can see at least one pair of legs at the piano. River & JuJu were playing and singing their abc's. Or so that was the story.
So the moral of the story, don't do laundry........ at least when they are awake!

Saturday night I got the absolute pleasure of seeing CAVO live (and backstage!). For those of you who don't know, CAVO's lead singer is a dad of quads and married to the beautiful Beth Walker. CAVO was in town touring twith the Crue Fest & Beth flew down to see him (Thank to Ms Casey Gerwer!). It was a blast of an evening and can't wait for them to come back in town. AND if you haven't gotten it, you must get their cd..BRIGHT NIGHTS DARK DAYS

Beau with all of his girls on his birthday. All he wanted was to sit and have dinner in the dining room with homemade meatballs & spagetti ( a recipe I used to to "woo" him! he still loves it).

So I got the girls all dressed up & we had a fabulous dinner followed with Chocolate cake. River gladly declared that chocolate cake should be "ebbyday". I have to agree with her :)

This is a picture from last year on his birthday. It was the first time they ever ate at the table. They have grown & changed sooooooo much this last year.

I truly am a very blessed woman with such a fabulous hubby and beautiful girls.

HOW long has it been????

I know it has been forever since I have updated the blog. But I have a great reason.... I left! Okay, it was only for 3 days, but what it takes to leave for 3 days? (did I mention I left for 3 days~ just ME!!! ) Well, last weekend was my high school class reunion and Beau being the most wonderful husband that he is, let me use some of his frequent flyer miles, rent a car, and go to New Orleans for a weekend. It was so wonderful. One of the best things was I got to go and see alot of my family that I haven't seen in a long time and drive by alot of my favorite places.
So, the first thing I did once I got off the plane, was to get as fast as I could to my rental car, plugged in the Garmin and headed to Baton Rouge........... Did you think I was goign to say the French Quarter? (hmmm...... keep reading.......) I got to Tiger Country & had lunch with none other but Jac Tubre. It was so great to see her and catch up before we got to go see her cupcakes. She has the cutest little cupcakes!

From visiting Jac, I went on to see my Grandma. She is one of the kindest women I know and NEVER has a shortage of food...GOOD FOOD! ( It was so awesome having all of my favorite Southern cooking. Mmm.. mmmm. good! Seriously, still salivating just thinking of it.) I can't tell you the last time I got to spend so much time with her. It was wonderful.

After leaving there, I went and had lunch with my cousin & his family. They just had a very handsome little boy and his big sis, Nora, came too. She is adorable. Then it was off to New Orleans to get ready & go to the reunion. I had a special date too..... Travis, my brother. Beau was home watching the girls, so my big brother came with me to make sure I didn't get into any trouble. hehehehehe...... Well, we did get home before the sun came up, that's good, right? hehehehehe

This is two of my friends from many years ago, Racheal & Eric. I seriously would not have survived high school went out them. Eric got me thru chemistry & physics. The reunion was a blast and my classmates who put it together did an amazing job. It was the first time for me to attend and hope to make the next one. I will say though, it was so refreshing to be back in New Orleans, have some beignets, walk thru the French Market & drive down some old favorite streets. It has changed alot since I lived there & more since Katrina, but it is still "home" for me. I have the BEST husband ever in that he watched the kids & said GO! I love him for it!

My last day there I spent with more of my family at my Aunt Terry's house. Again, never a shortage of food or drink OR laughs! Thanks Aunt Terry!

I know though, that most of you really only read the blog to see pictures of the girls. So, here you go!!!!

Here are some pictures from a sculpture park Beau found while driving the girls around the day before (I was at a rock concert......more on that later). He had wanted to walk around with them but with the water, waited till we could go together. It was so worth it. The girls loved it & I was amazed that he even found this. It is in front of an office complex & right off a tollroad. It was beautiful & can't wait to do it again, especially when its not a 100 degrees.

Can you believer it? FIVE QUAD MAMAS! Yes, two weekends in a row, I have gotten to go see some of my quad mom friends: Suzie Steece, Moni Graf (who drove in for the weekend), Casey Gerwer, Amy Jo Sather, & me! It was a very fun afternoon.

Well, it was bound to happen at some point. The girls were fascinated to watch Suz change the diapers of her crew, so they SAW a boy! I was just so glad they were so facinated that she was changing a diaper that they didn't ask or notice much else! (they haven't seen boy parts before)

Skye finding a place to hide & alittle quiet. She is on the shelf in the linen closet. I have given up keeping the sheets, blankets, towels folded. It does look comfy though!

Here is Ms. Patty & the girls. The girls have truly loved their swimming lessons this summer and I know will miss them after the last summer class. THey have gotten so much from it this year. Ms. Patty is a fabulous teacher.

I wanted to recommend this book to anyone with kiddos! My college roommate, Jennifer Williams wrote it so I had to buy a copy! I have been so amazed by how well written & full of great things that are in it! It is full of so many fun (and educational) ideas. And I plan on getting alot of the children's book that go with the experiments. I got it for the girls, and though much is still alittle old for them, I can't wait to do alot of the experiments with them. And hopefully my nephews aren't reading this, because I'm getting them a copy of it too!

Now, for some updates. The crib tents are going over wonderfully! They even ask to be zipped up and love their "space". I know one day we will either go to toddler beds, straight to big girl beds, or just throw the mattresses on the floor, but for now, this is what works best for us. Glad so many of you have enjoyed the video.

The girls just keep growing and with it the level of conversations. Yes, CONVERSATIONS! God help me, because they already are rationalizing things too well. Examples:

River: Ms. Emily, I go home wichu!

Ms. Emily: River, my house is too little.

River: I know! I little! I FIT! I go to Mae-Mae House! YEAH!!!!

OR:

Me: Okay, time for bed

Girls: Um, how'bout cookies!?

OR:
When one of the girls is buggin the other " go see Daddy/Mommy" Nice!

THere are so many and you never know what will come flying out of their mouths, which does make me much more cautious as to what comes out of my mouth!

The girls have also learned a new word that they love: PARTY! Since we have gone to a few now, everytime we get in the car, they expect to go to a party ( and start looking for the cake/cupcakes). Gee, I wonder who they get that from?

What to do when it's a 104!

It has been 100 degrees or MORE for the last 14 days. UGH! So what is a girl ( or girls) suppose to do? WELL...... we have said yes! to any and ALL pool party requests! On Sunday we went to their buddy Andrew's right next door (sorry no pics from that event) and went swimming & played on the swing set. He is trying to figure out girls I think since he has a little sister on the way. Congratulations again Deanna & Randy!!!!

And then yesterday we got ANOTHER invite to Ms. Courtney's. The girls have totally fallen in love with her & were jumping for joy when I told them this morning that Ms. Courtney was coming over & we were goign to her house to swim. They couldn't wait to get their suits on. I will confess that I do hold their suits hostage until sunscreen is on. It is the ONLY way for me to get it on them. UGH! Ms. Courtney with her posse....

Belated Father's present & pics

I also had a picture done of all of his "girls". I think I love this picture the best because it truly captured everyone's personality. This was the LAST picture they took too! As some of you know, Beau was out of town for Father's Day, so I thought some updated pictures were the best gift for one of the best Father's & Husbands. Despite what the media is saying, I have found that having quads has made our marriage stronger, more loving, and more commited than if we hadn't. I know a big reason for that is because of Beau and how much he puts the girls and I first and only the best for us. WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!

As many of you know, this is a "house divided". I went to LSU (you know the World Series Baseball Champions!!!!!) and Beau went to TEXAS ( where the Tigers go to get a good slab of beef...hehehehehe). So for Father's Day this year I had the girls pictures taken in their TEXAS outfits. I have to admit they do look really cute despite the "rrrnge". I LOVE YOU HONEY!!!!

Yep, JuJu's latest feat. She climbs INTO bed, and then tries to climb ONTO the bookshelf. Yeah, she is the reason for a big chunk of my grey hair!
It must be noted that JuJu has learned this from her watching her sister Skye. I have video on that one, but for some reason it did not come thru! Working on it. Skye is the other major contributor to my grey hair.

The newest member to our family, Isabella arrived at 11:56pm July 3rd weighing 5lbs 4oz. She arrived 5 weeks ahead of schedule, but is doing awesome. Mom, baby & Jer are home as of today. I am so happy for them!
Natasha & Izzy. Natasha and my brother, Jer are goign to be amazing parents. And for those who know Jer, he made it thru the whole delivery & didn't pass out! Woohoo Jer!

Things we've been up to....

Becoming butterflies & dancing all around.
Grocery Shopping! The new store that just opened has little mini-carts. The girls LOVE them! We went really early so the girls had the store almost to themselves.

I wonder if that really is a good price? Hmmmm, I guess I should get FOUR!

Here is a pic of all of finds. Yes, Rayne is still in her sweater despite it being a 100 degrees! JuJu was at therapy when we went this time, but the girls shared with her once she was back in the car.
Fresh bananas are the best.

On Saturday, we hit the Farmer's Market. Oh what fun! The girls really enjoyed all of the flowers and free samples. Watermelon was the first offering and River will forever be a fan favorite.

Hey, Mom-you did buy the watermelon right? And the blueberries, peaches, corn, oranges, and bananas?
Oh, are there more samples!

If you ever get a chance, I highly recommend going to your local farmer's market.

Fridays the girls have Little Gym with Mr. Travis. The girls LOVE going and I have even caught them jumping on the couch chanting "jumping, jumping! See u soon Mr. Travis". It was so cute!

Oh what a day!

So what could make four girls look so anxiously out a window? A boy? Daddy? Pretty flowers? Presents? No... A BUNNY!!!!! The girls were so excited. Begging to go out to see "bunneeee". I don't have to tell you how long he stayed around as soon as the door opened. He was out of there before you could say boo! Last week we had some horrible storms come thru and we were left with this. It has made playing out back a bit more adventuresome for me. The girls kept asking "wha happ-in?" "uh-oh....brokin" They then proceeded to yell up & down the alley for the bunneeeee. So today we got out! One of the MOMS in our local Moms of Multiples group, PAMOM, invited the girls to a Finger Painting Party! Amanda has two beautiful daughters and a gorgeous home. The girls had an absolute blast. Amanda even has the recipe to the paint on this blog, her cooking blog. This is Amanda putting some of the paint in the bowls she had stapled next to each piece of paper for the girls to paint on. GENIUS! I'm telling you, she had this SO organized and well thought out. I was in awe! And of course the girls LOVED it. Well, River, Rayne, & JuJu really loved it. Skye prefers a different media. She prefers coloring or pencil drawing. She can then be more precise & it is not so "dur-teee". She did get into by the end. JuJu & Rayne getting creating their masterpieces. Today was another first. Courtney! Courtney is one of our teenage neighbors who came to help out today. She was a godsend & the girls really enjoyed her. And I don't know if I would have made the day without her! Seriously, this was only part one of the day! (Before you wonder, Emily is busy on Thurs. she will be back here tomorrow). Rayne--Why are you taking all of these pictures? JuJu.... Hmmmm I wonder if I can paint the grass? River--Hmm... Do they have a different color than what I have? I wonder if that will mix well with the one I got? The other big attraction was this awesome sandbox! The girls thought it was the best! Do you see all of the kids? Amanda invited 2 sets of quads, a set of trips, 3 sets of twins---and those were the ones there! Did I tell you she was amazing? Now that is a super MOM! A rare picture of all FOUR in it! River still making sure of what everyone else is doing. Now onto PART 2 of the day! JuJu's auditory impairment instructor, Alexis, had a family picnic for all the families she sees to have a meet & greet. It was really wonderful & I did get to meet several people. ( At one time, JuJu was being considered for cochlear implants and was wearing hearing aides all the time-or the amount of time she would leave them in!). Again, because of Courtney, we were able to make it. Beau was unable to come because of work and I needed the extra hands at a park. The girls had an awesome time & we literally had to drag/carry them back to the car. And that was at 10 minutes PAST their bedtime! Skye really loved this bouncy horse. I think she loved that she could get on it by herself mostly and she could control it. River, QUEEN of the SLIDES.. She went down every slide, again & again & again. It didn't matter how big or tall it was, she was doing it! This is one of the little ones. Courtney with all the little ducklin's following her. Too cute! Super JuJu! This little boy had to come up & imitate her. She had been doing this off and on for awhile. I was just glad she didn't do the flip-over she does at Little Gym. Rayne has to wear her sweater everywhere. And yes it was a 100 degrees today. I was able to convince her to take it off, BUT she carried it everywhere adn would not put it down. It is kinda cute. Really glad I bought the same sweaters in several sizes when they went on clearance. Sheesh! The race to the top! Skye & JuJu. I know her PT will be proud. ha!

Our little roadtrip!

On Friday the girls, Emily and I headed down to my parents for the weekend. It was so much fun. THe girls were so excited to see Noni & Pop-pop. I am amazed (and very blessed) at how well they will now travel on roadtrips. They LOVE to just GO!

Of course, the first thing the girls had to do was to head to the pool. So after blowing up 8 water wings, LOTS of sunscreen, they were off.
Here is a picture of Ms. Emily with the girls. She was the biggest help over the weekend.

I was glad to have gotten this picture because it was the ONLY time they sat still for a picture. River was jumping into the pool by the end of the weekend. It was so cute to watch her very serious face and then just as she would jump, the biggest smile would come across her face. Skye was a bit more low-key, but like River, all you heard was "I do it" "no hold". JuJu continues to be my crazy baby. She was swimming all over the place adn the more she could splash & bug her sisters, the bigger her smile & laugh got. Now, Princess Rockstar (aka Rayne), took a while to warm up to the pool, but she definitely wasn't crazy about getting her hair wet.

I was so excited to find each of the girls a pool towel in their color for a $1 each in the Target dollar bins. They are one of my favorite places to shop. Not to mention, don't they just make fo the cutest picture?

THis is from my Dad's artichoke plant. I never knew how gorgeous they were. This is the first year my Dad planted one and it was so cool to see ( and delicious). He only plants things that produce something edible.
Here is some of Mom's amazingly beautiful pottery. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the blue set she has done. The blue set with the dragonfly's are gorgeous.

I got the girls some new "furniture". It has been a perfect place to chill, share ideas, have conferences and oh, yeah--- the whole "i-was-here-first/she's-touching me " battles have begun. (Hence why we have TWO of these instead of the orginal plan of one!)

Summer days and swimming beauties

The summer is starting off to being very busy and lots of firsts already. THe girls are starting to take walks without the backpack-leashes! WOOHOO! (and scary!) So far so good, still working on holding hands when crossing the street or walking in a parking lot, but they do stop when you yell "FREEZE!"-if just for a second. The other fun thing they have decided to do is to break into every babygate, open doors, and create pure havoc. Of course all of this is in the name of fun.
Dancing & jumping off the couch, chairs, ect are one of the new favorite pasttimes these days. River & Skye will even curtsy for you. SO CUTE!
The girls are also really starting to getting into imaginary play with each other. JuJu has become the master of teasing/harrassing her sisters. It is always done with a smile.....
This week we started swimming lessons for the girls. They LOVED it! I actually had to take JuJu out kicking & screaming! ( And since she has learned to use her head as a weapon, I carried her out football style. I'm just glad there is no video of that). Their swim instuctor, Ms. Patty, is fabulous and amazing. She had all four in the pool with her AND no help! LOVE IT! JuJu is my little fish, River is my teacher's pet, Rayne prefers to be pushed around on her float, and Skye is not too crazy about getting her face wet (or sitting next to JuJu-the splasher).

River "whacha doin' mama?" (this is said a minimum of 50,000 times a day)
Rayne " jacket! Jacket! NOOOOOO JuJu! Mommy, Mommy"
JuJu " knock, knock..... who there?"
Skye " Miiinnnneeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" As she is running out of my room with another pair of MY shoes or Beau's book!

Today River saw I had a bandaid on, and was so concerned. She told me to "sit you couch" and once I sat next to her, she said "ahhh Mama, hurt! I kiss it make better." And then she kissed my arm, looked up, and said "all better!" It was the cutest, sweetest thing!
Rayne will now sing all the opening songs to her favorite shows. She has the sweetest little voice. But she is obsessed with wearing her jacket EVERYDAY! Or her sweater. It doesn't matter how hot it is, she has to wear one. I mean, a Rockstar has to be accesorized, right? And she will ask you often "what doing?"
JuJu's new think is "knock, knock". She goes up to everything and does this. At least a gazillion times a day! And then tackles you with the biggest hug. It is amazing though to watch how much she is talking now.
Skye asks at least 5 times a day about Noni & Pop-pop. Her and JuJu both kiss & hug the phone when Noni is on the other end.

The girls have also turned going to bed into one of the biggest parties! They will get to playing & laughing so much that one of them will start snorting from laughing so hard. Beau and I are usually laughing at this point too--just don't tell them!

I took River to the grocery yesterday and they have little carts for the kids. Well, she LOVED IT! If I even dared to touch the cart an immediate "NO! MOMMY! MINE!" Needless to say, it took a bit longer getting out of there. She so loved it and was so excited. She even found and got some of the things we really needed.... bananas! It is amazing how fast they get so big! Sorry the pics are a bit fuzzy, but they were taken with my phone.

My Awesome Weekend!

My awesome weekend actually began a day earlier than the Quad Mom getaway. I flew into Tampa to hang out with my best friend Nicole! The two of us can pack more into a 24hr time period than anyone I know. We went to ALL of our old favortie places from when I lived there. (No, I'm not from TX orginally!) One of the fun things was to go and pick up my Mom's artwork that was in a show out there. Mom had come years ago when I lived in Sarasota and talked about how fun it would be to have her work in one of the gallery's in the artist strip. Well, she did it and it was so great to see and be apart of it! I cannot begin to express how wonderful that time was! And my favorite part was getting a massage by Nicole. It was fabulous! If you are in the Palmetto/Bradenton area you have to GO! She owns it and is the best! Tell her I sent you..... Nicole and I have said we will always have to be best friends because we know way too much about the other, but to be honest, it is an honor to be her friend. My life is so rich with her in it. I just wished TX & FL were ALOT closer!
Nicole and my's feet on Longboat Key getting wet. I didn't realize how much I missed the water, the sand, and the sound of the gulf! And just how beautiful the Gulf Coast is!
This is Nicole and her two beautiful children, Taylor & Aiden. She has the most amazingly sweet & funny kids! THanks for sharing your Mom guys!
This is Jac & Casey. (and you can see Suz & Sandra over their shoulders) These are the two masterminds behind the Quad Momma Getaway! They are so amazing! Casey lives near me, so we have met many times. She usually gets all the stuff we have finished with. She is the tiniest, sweetest thing. AND ORGANIZED!!!!! I thought she was going to go crazy with me since I am such a procrastinator and NEVER organized! See, Casey, I DID book my flight and even a few weeks before the trip! Not bad for me...
Jac I have spoken to many times on the phone & email as she also went to the same doctor as me in PHoenix, Dr. Elliot. It was such a pleasure to finally really give that girl a hug!
So, a huge THANK YOU to both of them! The weekend was amazing and I now have 13 new life-long friends who I look forward to seeing again soon! Each one of them are incredible and beautiful. Miss you!

How nice was this to hang by for 3 days? Can you say Heaven? And to know that the babies who were fussy or crying, you weren't responsible for--- quadruple heaven! This was all of us piled into a van-cab for our last night out. It was so much fun! I haven't had that much time out since LONG before the babies were born.
And of course one of the best parts of the trip, coming home to my babies! It is so nice to get away, but I sure did miss them (and their Daddy too!!!!) JuJu missed the photo-shoot. She has the busiest schedule in this house! They have also quickly let me know many of the new tricks they learned while I was gone. That is another post all together. Let's just say, NOTHING is sacred or safe!

"What's the first thing you did when you found out you were having 4 babies?"

After the shock wore off, each of us got online and googled "quads." One by one we found each other.. THANK GOD WE DID!!

We quad moms have an incredibly special bond. We have spent countless hours chatting with each other online and on the phone. A day does not go by when our in boxes aren't full of funny, frustrating, tear jerking and loving emails addressed to the group. We have seen each other through our pregnancies, NICU stays, health scares and countless moments of triumph and hours of desperation. We have shared our stories, good and bad. We cheer each other on and pick each other up when the going gets tough. We have found strength in numbers and as a group we can solve any problem.

A few months ago Casey and Jac sent out an email that would forever change us all. They were bound and determined to organize the "first annual quad mom get away!" They were not going to take "no" for an answer and were willing to do whatever they could to help each and everyone of us make it. Yes, they are that sweet and wonderful!

This past weekend our trip became a reality. We quad mommas, from all over the country, flew into Orlando, FL. We spent the weekend effortlessly bonding and enjoying each others company. Seeing our best friends for the first time in person is one of those things that words cannot describe. Each and every women was even better in "real life!"

Not every single one of us was able to make the trip, however the turn out was AMAZING! Those of you who missed this year, we can't wait to see your smiling faces next time!

Casey and Jac, THANK YOU SO MUCH for coming up with this idea and for not taking "no" for an answer. It was truly one of the best weekends of our lives and we can't wait for next year!

In the words of sweet Sandra, "I'm so glad I had quads.. it gave me all of you!"

I wanted to upload a TON of pictures & videos, but seem to be missing a key component to do it. UGH!

So, instead this post will just be commentary. The girls will be 2.5 today! Two and a half! Where has the time gone? I have these crazy, adorable, nature loving little girls who seem determined to destroy the house. Even the dog stays outside more and more these days and has developed a bit of a startle reflex. I can't say I blame her, I think I am developing one too. Skye's latest thing is to jump. She LOVES to jump from the chair into the ball pit. She jumps off the fireplace over a ball, and today's newest is to jump off from the top of their picnic table. She is actually great with it! The scariest part is that her sisters try to copy her!

For the latest phrases that we seem to hear alot now are:
NO! NO WAY! (seriously, River will tell you NO WAY! especially after letting you know she is the boss AND leader)
Mine! --this is a very popular word right now.

It seems like forever since I have posted, but I assure you I haven't been sitting around eating bon-bons! I have been crazy busy! Mom and I did awesome (well her mostly, actually ALL her)at the DFW Fiber Festival! She sold out of many things and only took home a very few. I am so proud of her! And she just found out that she will be in another gallery in New Orleans. SO COOL! (For those of you who don't know, that is where I'm from and will always be "home").
This past weekend, I spent in Arlington at the TMOM (TX Moms of Multiples) Convention. It was a blast and I was named the High Order Multiples Chairperson for TMOM for the new year. I'm excited about it and look forward to this new year with it. And Beau did survive a weekend alone with the girls. THANK YOU EMILY! ( She helped ALOT this weekend since Beau did have to work alot too). I'm working on a separate post of what happens when Mom's gone! SHEESH, is all I got to say!
We also got a new table this last week and have gotten rid of the highchairs! Can I say Hallelujah! We are still have some adjustments to the new table, but over all the girls are doing great and all of the old chairs have found new homes. YEAH!!!!! THough, I do still have the old kitchen table for the taking!
Well, I know most of you really just want to see the pictures, SO HERE THEY ARE!

Life has been crazy busy around here! The girls are chatting away like crazy and sometimes we even understand them. Beau & I laugh that on our road trip to Noni & Pop-Pop's, River newest saying in the car is "push-a-button! Mommeeee-right there-pusha button" to make the dvd play. As soon as the credits start rolling, you can hear "pusha button". It is the funniest thing because she says it with such bossiness. I wonder where she gets that from??? The other new expression is I-luv-you! They all say, all the time. It truly can make your heart melt.
Hmm... other sayings.....
Rayne: Rockstar!, nice try, Yeah, Rayne! Good job! (she says this to herself when she has done something, usually something I would be saying the opposite too!!!!) Also, Rayne's newest thing is she will only wear certain diapers with certain characters on it. She will throw the biggest fit if you try to put on the Ernie diaper instead of Big Bird-Elmo one. I don't think this is a good sign for later..........JuJu will come up to you and now say "helloooooo JuJu Bean" especially if you don't say it quick enough. She is talking so much now! She will even grab a book and read it to you. (again, you may get a word or 2 out of it, but hey! She IS DOING IT!) Skye: sings the alphabet song ALOT! Reads to herself & her sisters at nap time. Her newest thing is to say "oh, no! Oh, dear!" complete with facial expression & hand gestures. She also now only calls JuJu, JuJu Bean. Her favorite request is to take a shower. Yes a shower! She LOVES IT!
River, besides "pusha button", is still the boss. She will tell you if you forget. And if you have something she wants, she will trade you for it. (basically she hands you whatever & then rips whatever she wants out of your hands). The girls are just getting soooo big! I can't call them babies anymore. sniff sniff.

Other big news, BIG NEWS! is Mom and I (mostly her!) have launched a new website Knitting Lagniappe . We are really excited about this. It is an adventure we have talked about doing for years that has finally come to fruition. My mom is one of the most talented, hardest working person I know, so it was alot of fun putting this together. We will also be vendors this weekend at the DFW Fiber Festival. You can also see more on her blog, Sony's world of mud & yarn.

Last weekend, my friend Nicole came up to see me. Last time I saw her the girls were still in the NICU. We had the best time and got so much in over the 48 hours she was here! One of the best things we did was a 3-hr spa treatment! Yes, THREE hours! It was a.m.a.z.i.n.g! And we got them to put us in the same room so we could keep chatting the whole time.

Look for some news on some changes that will be occuring in the homefront. To give you a hint.....Can you guess????

Here are some pics from Easter. We went to see my parents but it was the fastest trip ever! We left a day late & came back a day early because of weather. (So for all of you who I said I would let you know I was coming or when I'd be there, I'm sorry, but it was just crazy that week!)

They aren't kidding--It is a mess! But they had alot of fun. River will even lay on her tummy and say "I'm swimming!" And then when she gets up say "Mask on" with all of the bubbles on her face. They are getting just too smart!

March of Dimes

As parents of preemies, the March of Dimes is dear to our heart. The advances that have been made for premature babies and support for their families I will always be greatful for. I know that if it wasn't for many of these advances and the AMAZING doctors, nurses, & therapist, I might not have brought home my four amazing little angels. While I'm not an embassador for the March of Dimes, several of my friends are. I know times are tough, but if you could help them out would be great. Some of just a few of the teams I know of are: Gerwer Quads , Wells Quints, Schirano Triplets, Tubre Quads, Wilke Quads.

Here is alittle montage of our journey in the NICU. The girls were born at 30 weeks, we were hoping for 34. Some things are just not under your control. We were told of the roller coaster that the NICU could be, and it WAS! We had many of the typical events, but by day 7 ALL of the girls were on room air and had clear head scans! WOOHOO, we thought we were in the clear and just needed them to grow & master the feedings. WRONG! On day 10, it all took a nose dive with JuJu with a MRSA infection. There is no words to ever describe watching your child crash in front of you & watch them intubate, nor to help hold your child while putting in IV's, and signing papers for blood transfusions and God knows what else.

I'm writing all of this not for a "pity me", but to let you know how far the girls have come and to say THANK YOU to all of those who helped us get where we are! Friends & Family who were there (and still here), there aren't enough words. Also, because in the last few weeks I have come across more "comments" that don't need to be repeated about the girls, high-order multiples, ect. I also know many other MOMs (moms of multiples) who have also been dealing with this. The fact is THEY ARE CHILDREN! OUR CHILDREN!!!! And we love them and would do it all over again and more to have them with us.

Calming down........

This was taken awhile back, but if you ever come over, you will see this in play. Before you ask, the effect is less than 2 nano seconds! Though, Cinderella has a much longer effect and am VERY grateful at the moment for it! We just got in from helping Beau with the yard (or as helpful as 4-2y/o's & me could be) and a rambunctious bubble bath, so the girls are relaxing while I get dinner ready.

Last year we were celebrating Easter with my parents at their house. The girls were having the first real outing on the grass. It was pretty funny.
My babies! This is one of my favorite pictures of them. They LOVED their bottles!!!!
This was exactly TWO years ago! My how time flies! I think these bumbos are now onto their 3rd family. We didn't use them for long, but they were worth every penny for us!

I noticed before lunch I was missing two, and found Skye & JuJu laying by the front door. They had both taken pillows & blankets and were all comfy and snuggled in. Of course, I had to take pics!

The reason JuJu was using a bathmat! JuJu originally had Rayne's blanket, but..... when Rayne walked up she quickly took it back, which started an INSTANT tantrum! River (who is really sweet~more on that later) ran and got JuJu the first "blanket" she could find-AKA the bathmat. As you can see here, while all of this chaos was going on, Rayne celebrated her victory in getting her blanket & a pre-set-up nap space!

The girls are really starting to interact in such amazing ways. Most of the time I feel like an intruder spying on this special little band of angels who is blessed to be included.
The other day Rayne & JuJu were playing with the door. They open & close it saying hello/goodbye over and over and over again. You get the idea. Well, it was only a matter of time when one of them got hurt. So JuJu got her hand caught in the door (not seriously, I have protectors on the door so it can't shut all the way). Before I could get over the babygate ( i was getting lunch ready), River & Skye went flying down the hall to her, yelling JuJu crying!
As soon as I got there & picked her up ( quick look, no blood, no broken bones or skin or obvious contusions), River & Skye were grabbing JuJu's blanket out of her crib for her & help me put it around JuJu. River went and got her blanket for JuJu & Skye got a stuffed bunny. Rayne handed her a book. I was so proud and amazed at my girls and how quickly they rallied around her at that moment. I knew right then, that no matter what happens, they will ALWAYS be there for each other and truly give the shirt off their back to the one in need. They even stood around and help to rub her back as I was doing until she was calmed down.
Of course, within in 10minutes they were back to being normal 2 year olds & I was looking at the clock hoping nap time was really soon!

What we've been up too

It seems forever since I have actually updated the blog. It has been crazy busy despite all of the rain (that was very much needed!). Needless to say, we have needed to find ways to entertain FOUR 28month olds! Yes, we are rapidly approaching the halfway mard of the two's! Though, I have been warned of the threes, hmmm. Here is a sweet picture of JuJu. You would never know the chaos & drama that occured after this. She is one of my biggest food throwers. But doesn't she just look like an angel here? (even if the horns are holding up the halo??? I should know, I believe I was told that often growing up too, hehhehe) So to escape being cooped up, we took the girls to the mall again to play. I love these sweaters on them!

Skye is always looking things over. She is such my little organizer. She now even puts all of her bears in a row in her bed at night with her. She is even now taking one bear to go and "kiss" all of the other bears. It is soooo sweet to watch!
River still maintains her position as boss. Trust me, she WILL tell you AND if you have any doubt, she WILL order you around! And we have now noticed it is not limited to me, her dad or her sisters! You have been warned! Though she gives amazing hugs, and LOVES to snuggle early in the morning and right before bed. what can I say, she is a "mini-me" of ME!
Rayne is still my sweetie. She is also my stealth bomber still. She can sneak up & get things before you even realize she was there. She has also gotten really good at setting up her sisters and when "it" hits the fan, she will be standing there with THE most innocent look, going "la-la-la-la". Again, the halo is held up by the horns!
"Hey, Wiver, do you see those shoes? Look at that red balloon with those letters S-A-L-E!" "Yeah, whatever, it is cold, rainy,& mom has us in this plastic polka-dot get up!" "well, IT IS from this year's Spring collection! You HAVE to wear clothes sometime!"

It's RIVER!
Beau took each of the girls for a ride in the big bag. Three out of four LOVED it and begged for more!
Rivr showing her pure joy of the event. Beau has also started reading the girls poems everynight after we put them in their cribs. we have found this way we really can read to them & it is not a battle for the lap or control of the book. Well by the third night, it was DEMANDED that "poems" be read. Skye & River read their own books, but listen, while JuJu tries to escape to get control of the book & Daddy's lap! Oh, and we have thankfully, had minimal escapes from our little gymnast!
I couldn't resist how cute these were. Skye had to wear these all day. She had to have her slippers on. How cute!
Well, yesterday the sun finally came back out again and we got out! THANK YOU MISS EMILY!!!!! She came over on her day off and we took the girls to this little area that reminds me something of Greenich Village or a very modern European neighborhood. So we put the girls on their leashes, I mean their backpacks & walking we went! Of course we had to stop and get some pastries and the little outdoor cafe. Look at what big girls they are--No booster & No highchair!!!! Woohoo, a part of life just got alittle simplier!

Right by the area with the cafe & lots of cute (but very pricey shops) is alittle pond with a huge fountain & some ducks. The girls were fascinated with it! Thank God I had their "backpacks" on them, or Skye would have had a few dips in the water. She was sooooo determined! Even with that she still almost went in head first! Funny things on our adventure were Skye & JuJu using the walking ramps & walls as if they were fancy Little Gym apparatuses. JuJu used the rails on the ramp as a swinging bar, yelling "weee" and Sky walked on the side walls of the ramp as if it was a balance beam and jumped off at the end going "weee, yeah!". Of course, since we hadn't been out in awhile like that in public, I forgot how many questions & looks you have to field. But we did run into this wonderful family with twin boys. Their dad Ivan, wanted to get pictures of all of the kids together. They are the cutest little boys, Filp & Stefan. It was so nice to meet ya'll!

Here is a montage of Sunday afternoon. The girls had a blast and my bathtub may never recover! I have to thank my Mom who taught me that it is more important to explore and have fun than to worry how much a mess is made. The mess can always be cleaned up, but the opportunety might not.

First I want to thank everyone for all of the kind comments on the blog facelift! I really appreciate it!

Things here have been busy. The conversations around here are exploding and watching the girls play WITH each other vs just playing by each other has been great. They are all starting to do so much imaginiary play which is fun. The girls most favorite thing seems to be stripping (yes, stripping still!!!) and throwing the diaper away. Yes, I know, I need to start the potty training. They do seem ready; I just don't know if I am.
The girls are starting to recognice colors, shapes, and almost all of their letters. Kinda scary on how smart they are, but they get that from their dad!
Well I will post more later. They are taking advantage of the moment & breaking into a closet! UGH! They are showing me their treasure with an "I GOT IT!!!!!"

I want to congratulate the Sathers! THey had their babies today!!! Madison, Elizabeth, & Logan are all doing great and all weigh in over 3lbs!!!!! Check their blog for more updates & pics later today or tomorrow! I'm so happy for them! Keep them in your prayers!

ALso, Heather COX had her quads on Monday! (I was going to do this yesterday but.....). THey just updated their blog, so go check it out & send them some love!

Life here is MUCH better today (so far!). Thank you all for the love you sent! I so enjoyed reading all of the emails & comments over my glass (es) of wine!

I have more really great shots to post. JuJu has only done a few other escapes thankfully. The girls have been fighting a cold or allergies and have been alittle cranky. (which makes mama cranky!) Otherwise, all is well here. I did post on my mom's blog some pictures of her latest pottery that I took when I got to see her last weekend. I have to say that getting away for 48hours can do more for one's soul! I got to visit friends, sleep, be creative and not once did someone throw food at me! But I was glad to know that they missed me as much as I missed them! And Beau has a new appreciation of my days at home with them.

The Great Escape on the Coldest Day of the Year!

Today started at 21 degrees, the city frozen, and windchill in the single digits and one tired mama from getting up at least 3 times last night. Little did I know the Great Escape would be today! It is one that I think every parents dreads, pretends it won't happen to them, or just prefers to live in denial, but today I got to experience it!
I was sitting down, after my "angels" went down for nap, when all of a sudden a door flew open, and one VERY happy little girl came bouncing down the hall, clapping & yelling "yeah!". JuJu was beyond proud of herself. It took me a minute to realize, "oh, dear God, my last bit of sanity is now gone! They can get out of the crib!"! AHAHAHAH!

So, I firmly told her no, put her back to bed, only to turn around to have her by my side again! This was repeated ALOT. I finally gave up, got a book (and camera) and tried to read to them to see if I could get her to stay in. Fatigue finally took over and they took a nap. I have already sent my S.O.S. to all of my multiple MOMs. Beau will be assembling crib tents tonight.

I will admit that it took everything in me not to clap for her or to not laugh! She is so proud of herself and this is one thing she will always get to claim she is first at! Can you tell all those hours of PT & Little Gym have paid off!

Life's Little Pleasures

A sunday afternoon with Daddy & his "toys". The girls got to learn what white pine is & how to push the button to make the drill go. (all under VERY close supervision!!!)

Having lunch with some of your most favorite people! We met Ms. Emily out with 2 of the triplets she use to nanny for. The girls had a blast! It was 8 of us cruising the mall, playing, and eating. It was a very fun Monday morning.

Of course, we had to get Starbucks in! It was cold and they were the only ones open before 10am.

River decided she was going to be a "Big Girl" all day and had to sit with Claire & Finley. They were so sweet with her.

And what would a day of shopping be without going to the shoe store?

This was all from last week. I got the pure pleasure of getting away for 48hrs and see old
friends & play with my Mom! We got to work on her website & Pottery. You can see her blog HERE. She named her pottery MISO which is a huge honor to me. Mi (Misty) & So (Sony). I can only hope to be as inspiring & as fun a mom as mine is!

This face is also because her bed was a mess and when I went to change the sheets, I got ALOT of assistance & the side rail came off.
Well,........

When you see this expression, it usually means be prepared! Either something just happened, or it is about too! (also could explain Skye's expression)
River & JuJu had fun climbing the rail. There was a battle to see who could get to the top. You can guess who won!

Please continue to keep all those listed in the previous post in your prayers. I am sure there are many out their right now even without multiples who are dealing with alot of illness & rough days, and I will keep you in my prayers too!
